Bobby joins the Swindon Customer Services team
We have found just the man to add to the expanding customer services team in Swindon. Robert Langford, known as Bobby, started working for the Ward Thomas Group in 2008, during the holiday periods while studying for a ‘Forensic and Investigative Studies’ degree at Coventry University. We certainly feel that these skills will come in useful when we try to reconcile the tuck box monies at the end of the week! Bobby has been brought in on a full time basis to help support the team. ”I find the working atmosphere very refreshing and I am really looking forward to getting to know my clients” I am sure that you will join me and wish Bobby well in his new career.
Moving and emotional commemoration at Wootton Bassett this weekend
Final arrangements are now being put in place for this weekend’s moving and emotional commemoration at Wootton Bassett. On Sunday (October 16) the town will receive the Letters Patent on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen and will become Royal Wootton Bassett. Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal will be received by the Lord Lieutenant, Mr John Bush, OBE, KStJ. The town’s Mayor, Councillor Paul Heaphy, will then invite Her Royal Highness into the library to view the Exhibition of Appreciation Gifts received by the town in recognition of the support to repatriated servicemen and their families.
Following this Her Royal Highness will be driven down the High Street to the stage for the parade and the presentation of the Letters Patent. Wootton Bassett’s award winning town crier, Owen Collier will announce Her Royal Highness as she arrives in the High Street.
The Commemoration will include parade troops, the Wootton Bassett Band and the Royal Marines Band. Following speeches the flag bearer will break the new Royal Wootton Bassett flag, a ceremonial and historic moment when the new flag is raised for the first time after the presentation of the Letters Patent. The Master of Ceremonies, Councillor Steve Bucknell will then invite Canon Thomas Woodhouse to bless the town’s new Coat of Arms.
Weather permitting, there will be flypasts during the day by a Globemaster, a Hercules and later on at around 4.00pm by a Vulcan bomber.
The formal event will take place between 1.30pm and 3.00pm. Large screens will be placed in the High Street so that visitors can view the events as they are taking place.
Johnathan Bourne, Clerk to Wootton Bassett Town Council said “I hope that many people will come to share this significant event for the town. A lot of hard work has gone into making this a really special day for the people of Wootton Bassett and I hope everyone enjoys it.”
Some Magical Investments
Our 2 man delivery crews often face some real challenges getting customers machines up stairs. Often the only way to achieve a delivery would be to use a magic carpet! But the next best thing in the real world is to use a stair climber or a stair robot. They come in many different guises and sizes and while they are not the panacea for all deliveries our crews could not operate fully without them.
To support Bishopsgate Specialist Logistics & Installation’s growth we have invested in 30 new machines. Magic carpets they are not but they will enable the crews to deliver Safes, UPS Machines and other oversized equipment in the tightest of locations more easily.

Donna McFarlane of Bassetlaw PCT (NHS)
Donna called to thank us for the excellent work performed by Mark Darlington and Malcolm Jackson, who were tasked recently with delivering a “hospital bed” to a home address, which is always challenging!
Donna mentioned that she was ”particularly impressed with the communication in advance of the delivery and then the tenacity shown by the crew to manoeuvre the bed successfully to ensure the customer got exactly what they wanted”
Although having called the crew to pass on her thanks personally Donna wanted to ensure all relevant parties hear about this and receive thanks for their part in delivery from warehouse pick through trunk to delivery.
